| Open Shifts Open shifts are shifts on a schedule that are not assigned to an employee. Open shifts include information such as scheduled cost center, skill, date, and start and end time, but they do not yet have an assigned employee. Open shifts may be auto assigned using the scheduling engine if they do not violate configured constraints. The scheduling manager may also manually assign these shifts or make them available for employees to request. Request to Fill an Open Shift The scheduling manager may post open shifts to be picked up by qualified and available employees. A request to pick up an open shift is done using an Open Shift Request.
