Apply Rate Table Extensions

Extensions can be applied to both the Global Rate Tables (Admin > Global Setup > Company Setup > Company Config tab) and Personal Rate Tables (Base Compensation widget in Employee Information). Default Rate Table Extensions allow companies to add or extend Rate Tables and rates when new employees are created.

The Add Extensions settings allow for the selection of an extended rate table, as well as three other areas where alternative or additional rates can be added/extended to the listed table.

Extend Rate Table – Identify which Rate Table this Extension will be applied to.
Rate Extension Rule Selection – Select the Extension Rule that should be applied to this Rate Table.

Rate Table Selection – Select the Rate Table that will extend the rates from the identified Rate Table.

The following is a training simulation exercise.

Add A Rate Table Extension

The Administrator states their employee’s timesheet has the incorrect rate. They would like to add the shift differential for evening and overnight hours

Select Holy Edwards hyperlink to access her Employee Profile.
Select Base Compensation under the Jump To hyperlinks.
Select the Manage Personal Rate Table hyperlink.
Select Extensions under Jump To links section.
Select the drop-down arrow for Extension Rules.
Select Add Extra Rate Form
Select the Browse Icon for the Choose field.
Select the Shift Diff Add % radial button from the Rate Table list.
Select the Save button.
Select the Navigation Menu Icon.
Select the first Holly Edwards hyperlink in the Recent list.
Select the Save button.
Select the Counters tab to view the Counter Rates.

Task Complete

You successfully added the Rate Table Extension to the Personal Rate Table! The additional rate amounts are now reflected on the Evening and Overnight rows.
