Survey Creation and Configuration

Survey Configuration  

Survey configuration includes designing and testing your survey, defining additional logic, and identifying a translation language, if needed. You can also copy and modify a survey to meet your organization's needs.  


Surveys are configured by navigating to Menu > Admin > HR Setup > Surveys. 


Four tabs are available to complete the survey configuration.

Survey Designerprovides the fields required to create pages and questions for your survey. 



Test Survey: provides a preview of the survey. 


Survey Logic: provides the option to set up conditions, actions, and advanced formulas for specific survey questions, such as an If/Then condition.


Translation: provides available languages to translate your survey.




Survey Creation 

Three options are available for creating a new survey: Add NewAdd Pre-Defined Survey, and Copy SurveyLet us learn more about each option to help you determine which one fits your needs. 


Add New 

Navigation: Menu > Admin > HR Setup > Surveys 


  1. 1. From the Surveys page, select Add New.  The Add New options allows administrators to create a new employee survey from the beginning.

  1. 2. Enter the survey name, which appears in the employee's To Do Items. 

 

It's recommended to configure the survey properties and navigation in the Survey panel on the right before adding your questions. 


  1. 3. In the Survey panel on the right, enter the survey title, which can be the same or different from the survey name. The title appears at the top of the actual survey.  


  1. 4. Enter the survey description, which can include instructions for the employee.  


  1. 5. Select the Is Active box to assign the survey to employees. 


If the Is Active box is not selected, the survey cannot be assigned to employees at that time. 

  1. 6. In the center of the page, select Single Input or Radiogroup at the Add Question drop-down list. 





Navigation: Menu > Admin > HR Setup > Surveys 

 


Single Input: Allows the recipients to enter text answers. They are open-ended questions. 


Radiogroup Input: Provides the recipients with a multiple-choice question, answered by selecting one of the radio buttons. 




Questions can be added either in the Survey panel on the right or in the center of the page. More options, such as layout, may be available on one panel versus another.  

  1. 7. (Optional) If multiple survey pages are required, additional pages are provided as you create the questions. Once you create the first question, multiple Add Question buttons appear. To create a new page, select Add Question 


Select the + marker to view the details. 



 



 


  1. Add a new question on the existing page.

Pre-Defined Survey 

Pre-defined survey allows administrators to save time by providing templates as a starting point. The templates can be modified, as needed. The pre-defined surveys currently available are:  

  1. Manager Effective Index (Manager effectiveness indicators) 
  2. Standard (Engagement indicators) 
  3. Weekly Pulse (Company culture indicators) 


Step One: Use a Pre-Defined Survey 

Navigate to Menu > Admin > HR Setup > Surveys. From the Surveys page, select Add Pre-Defined Survey 


Step Two: Name and Select the Pre-defined Survey 

Enter a name in the Survey Name field. Then, select a template from the Pre-defined Survey drop-down list. 


Step Three: Continue 

Select Continue. The first page, the Survey Designer tab, appears. 


Step Four: Modify 

Edit any area of the survey, as needed. Select Save. 


Summary 

Select the Test Survey tab prior to assigning to employees. 



Copy Survey 

Copy Survey allows administrators to clone an existing survey. You can send the existing survey to additional employees or use this option if there are simple edits to the existing survey. Previously assigned surveys still in progress may not be reused. 




Navigation: Menu > Admin > HR Setup > Surveys 



 


If a survey is already in collection mode, a View Survey icon appears versus an Edit Survey icon to prevent additional survey edits while the survey is in progress.
