What is Basic Scheduling?
"Basic Scheduling" is the term commonly used to describe the scheduling functionality inherent in the Time solution. The term is also intended to communicate the difference between the features and functionality available through the separately sold Scheduler solution, commonly referred to as "Advanced Scheduling." The system's basic scheduling features are best suited for schedules that are stable and recurring while advanced scheduling supports schedules that are less stable and require more flexibility.

Basic Scheduling Features
- Daily Rules - Daily Rules are schedule rules that contain the shift types and times that your company uses most frequently. For example, a restaurant may schedule employees for three different time frames: a lunch shift, a dinner shift, and a closing shift. Daily Rules can be created for each of these shifts.
- Work Schedule Profile - Work Schedule Profiles organize Daily Rules into a patterned schedule. This profile can then be assigned to employees. For example, a 3 PM - 11 PM daily rule can be applied to Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to create a profile that might be named 2nd Shift - Weekend.
- Schedule Views - Employees and managers can view employee schedule information from a variety of system screens. Frequently accessed screens with this information include the Schedule widget on the employee record, the schedule column in the employee timesheet, and My Schedule or Weekly Schedule from the navigation menu.
- Edit Schedules - Managers and Administrators can easily modify assigned schedules from anywhere they see employee schedule information, such as the timesheet or the weekly schedule view. Edits can be made to one employee at a time or en masse, if needed.
