Restrict Punch

Companies may want to prevent an employee from punching in or out based on their response to a prompt. For example, if the employee answers in the affirmative whether they feel ill, the company may want to restrict that employee from punching in and starting their shift.

This option is found in the Question step of the Attestation Questionnaire workflow, specifically within the On Affirmative and On Negative Action Properties.

Restrict Punch automatically removes the employee’s last punch and displays the configured message to the employee. How the message is displayed depends on what platform an employee is using.
  1. Timesheet: Appears as an inline message.
  2. Mobile. clock URL (Clock widget in Dashboards): Appears as a pop-up message.
  3. Mobile Web Clock. clock URL (Login screen): Appears as an inline warning message.
  4. InTouch v2, v3, and DX devices: Appears as an inline warning message.

If a punch is restricted, then the punch is included in the Unprocessed Punches report with the status, “Restricted From Punching Due To Attestation."
